What are people saying about Hales Bar?

It is over fifty years since I last visitd Hales Bar as I moved to Lancashire from my home in Harrogate so I took the opportunity to visit and found to my delight that all is well in one of my old stamping grounds. Congratulations!! Kenneth Downs.

My Daughter and her husband moved to Harrogate this year and we have been this bar many times and have always been welcomed with open arms, what a brill place and what a great place to party, the staff and customers are friendly and we always feel relaxed and have brilliant time every time we visit, keep up the good work guys

This is a fantastic place to be in Harrogate. Positively a very warm and friendly welcome from staff and customers alike. I always spend a lot of time here whenever I visit Harrogate, which is usually a couple of times a month. The food is exquisite and all locally sourced and prepared by hand. Very well kept ales in a unique Pub. apparently the Pub was used for some scenes in chariots Of Fire back in the early eighties. Six beers on at alltimes and well worth a look (ahscum)

I visited your Bar last Thursday night and had a great time.
I just wanted to thank you for a really good night.
Also, i've been telling all the lads how good it is in your bar. They don't believe the stories i've told, but I'm gunna get the lads together and hire a coach and travel from Newcastle down to Harrogate and spend the evening in your bar, so they can see for themselves.
There aren't many photos of you or your bar on your website that do you justice.... Do you have any you can send me and the lads which really show off your assets.

Very atmospheric bar with great ales and friendly service. One of Harrogate's best pubs. (dalesman1000)

Called in whilst following the local Mummers team on their tour of Harrogate pubs. An ideal spot for their play - great welcome, plenty of banter, smiles on faces - total contrast to the Muckles (see comments on that "alcohol re-fuelling point"!) Beers were 2 Copper Dragons, Draught Bass and others I couldn't see - but beer was very well kept. Barmaids top notch! (JBGatelad)

Hello to you All at The Hales Bar,
My wife and I have just returned home from a couple of days in Harrogate and had the pleasure of visiting Hales on two or three occasions. We found the real ale on offer to be excellent, the staff friendly and helpful and the food outstanding. On our last evening we had the Haddock and Chips and I have no hesitation on saying that it was the best fish and chips we have had in many a long year. Thank you all very much!
